If you have had experience in running projects, you know of the communication gap between the construction activities in the field and management teams in the office. Project management systems exist to keep schedule and cost in check but the information being fed into these systems comes in from word of mouth, paper or spreadsheets. This process results in large indirect construction costs and in many cases this information may not be accurate and can paint a false picture of projects reality, which in turn encourages wrong remedial actions.
